Reuse that Dryer Lint!

Saturday, April 26, 2008
One of the blogs I read often, Daily Danny posted a bit back on different uses for dryer lint, rather than tossing it in the garbage. When we went camping last weekend, I tried out his idea to start fires with it.

I live in an apartment complex with shared laundry facilities. I didn't feel like digging around too much in other people's laundry garbage and lint, but I took a small ziploc bag full of it on our trip. I felt kind of dorky telling my friend and her boyfriend what I'd brought, but they actually thought it was pretty cool. It was so cold that weekend and we wanted a fire immediately. We tried it out and it worked really well! At first it burned really slowly, and then all of a sudden it was gone. I'm wondering if certain lint from different fabrics burn at different speeds?

The ultimate verdict though? Really easy and free help with getting a fire going! It really did help. Check out our fire!

(ps... look at Tyler's attractive sandal and sock combo, love it!)
